Peace Out, Bean Sprout

Another Pinterest idea. How did I ever survive without that clever clever website?? It's like my oxygen.

I saw a sign a teacher made for her classroom with various ways to say good bye. I can't seem to find it online, but here is my version.

I bought this frame at GW for 10 bills. 

I typed up a word document with all the sayings and colored them in an ombre effect (light gray to black) and threw a border around the words.

The frame was odd measurements of 18"x25", but nothing the UPS Store couldn't handle. They put the measurements in their computer and pressed print. 

Total cost of the print was 4.00. I stole most of the sayings off of said teacher's poster, but I made up two of my own. Can you guess which ones?

"Take a Hike, Northern Pike!" and "Peace Out, Bean Sprout!" Maybe not elementary school worthy, but nothing we are afraid to say in the Lovely Household.

 Thrifty. Simple. Straightforward.

Still in the bedroom and about to reveal our new ceiling light. But first a little reminder of what was...

Sayonara ceiling fan! Hello pendant light!

I attempted a chandelier style light in the bedroom before I found this beauty. Too big, way TOO Big! We would have been able to hide our mess behind this light. 

With new direction, I found our new light for 100.00 at Menards! You know what they say, "Save Big Money at Menards." Who knew Menard's had it in them?!

Oscar and I watching Henry's light show. (The Rose Bowl was on downstairs...Go Ducks!)

The bottom piece is glass, I was afraid it might be plastic when I saw it hanging in the store.

 I think this light is the modern kick this bedroom needed.

Folks, this is about it for the master bedroom. I am making a few tweaks that i will share next week, but I am pretty excited about how it has come together...for now:)

Closet Screen Door

Months ago I took a trip to the Junk Bonanza in Minneapolis. I brought home a couple of treasures, including this gal...

and an old screen door that I had to have. (I say that about everything I want and think that there is probably a better way I could be spending my money.) So, I bought it and it's been hanging out in the corner of our bedroom for months.

With a little help from my best fella, the screen door has found a new and functional home...

Do you love it? I love it! Henry showed reservation about the work that needed to be done to make it happen. The bottom of the screen door was rotten, and it was too wide and too tall for the space. The details bog me down. I said "PALEASSSSSE" in desperation and then raved about his amazing handy abilities...

 Handy indeed.

He truly is the ying to my yang.

The mirrored door is certainly a beauty, so we would like to find a new home for it in another room. I assure you, Henry agrees.

P.S. Check out Oscar's 26th week photo. He is 1/2 a year old. Unbelievable!
